LIVE: Israel launches major raids on Tehran

After one week of intense bombing campaigns by Israel and US militaries, the conflict with Iran shows no sign of abating.

Israel launched a fresh assault on Tehran on Saturday morning, notably hitting a main airport, a military academy, an underground command centre and a missile storage facility.

Trump took to social media on Friday evening vowing not to offer Iran a deal unless it declared its unconditional surrender. President Masoud Pezeshkian categorically refused.

Tensions around the Strait of Hormuz, a chokepoint for roughly a fifth of the world’s oil and gas shipments, have rattled markets and governments alike.
